Eligibility for CMA Course

To join the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) course from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), you need to meet these requirements:

Direct Entry to Intermediate Level:

  • Graduation: If you have a graduation degree in any subject except Fine Arts, you can start directly at the Intermediate level.

Foundation Level:

  • Class 10: You can apply for the Foundation level if you’ve completed Class 10 or an equivalent education.
  • Class 12: To take the Foundation exams, you must have finished Class 12 or its equivalent.

Exemptions:

  • Chartered Accountancy (CA): If you’ve passed the Foundation (Entry Level) Part I exam of the CA course, you can enter the Intermediate level directly.
  • ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India): If you’ve completed the Foundation course of ICSI or the Intermediate course of ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), you can also go straight to the Intermediate level.

Other Equivalent Qualifications:

  • Passed the Foundation (Entry Level) Part I exam of the Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) course from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
  • Passed the CA Foundation exam from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or the Intermediate level of CA.
